The following information was provided by the Chelsea Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

A 33-year-old woman from Jackson was arrested near the 400 block of North Main Street in Chelsea July 19 at 6:20 a.m.

According to a report filed with the department, an officer stopped the car after a routine computer check showed that the car, a 1998 Volvo, was listed as stolen by the Lansing Police Department.

While stopped by police, an officer checked the driver and found that she had three warrants out for her arrest from both the Jackson County Sheriff and the Albion police Department.

The woman was taken into custody on a charge of possession of a stolen property, and she was transported to the Chelsea Police Department. After being processed by the department, she was released to the custody of the Jackson County Sheriff.

The incident remains under investigation pending the issuance of a warrant from the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office.
