U.S. Olympian Sheila Taormina Visits Chelsea

The four-time Olympian will speak in Chelsea as part of Aberdeen Bike & Outdoor's 'Cabin Fever' event series on Jan. 30.

Aberdeen Bike and Outdoors in Chelsea will host four-time Olympian Sheila Taormina during a special presentation on Wednesday.

Taormina, a Livonia native, will be at Aberdeen's, located at 1101 Main St., at 6:30 p.m. to discuss her new book on swim technique, Swim Speed Secrets.

Taormina is the only woman to appear in four consecutive Olympiads in three different events – swimming (1996), triathlon (2000, 2004), and modern pentathlon (2008).

“It’s a honor to have four-time Olympian and world champion triathlete Sheila Taormina come to our store and speak,” said Aberdeen Bike & Outdoors owner Mike Casey. “Over the years I have had a chance to get to know her, and she is such a down-to-earth person with endless inspiration and information.”
