Chelsea High School Theater Guild Advances to One Act Regional Competition

The drama club will perform its one act show Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Chelsea High School.

The Chelsea High School Theater Guild competed in the Michigan Interscholastic
Forensic Association's One Act district competition on Jan. 26.

Chelsea competed against Milan, Western, Ann Arbor Huron, Winans Academy and Ann Arbor Pioneer. Each team had 45 minutes to construct a set, perform the show, and strike (take down) the set.

Chelsea performed well and advanced to the regional competition, which will be held on Feb. 9 at Clintondale High School in Clinton Township.

Audrey Bloom and Richie Slater of Chelsea each received the Excellence In Acting award. The entire company received an award for Best Concept.

There will be one performance open to the public of Chelsea’s One Act show titled BEES on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at Chelsea High School. The show is written by Coralie Cederna Johnson of Jackson and directed by Carrie Jay Sayer. Tickets are $5 at the door.
