Chelsea High School's Berkley Edwards Named "All State" Athlete

The Chelsea running back led the varsity football team to a 6-3 season during the 2012 academic year.

Chelsea High School senior Berkley Edwards has been named to the Associated Press Division 3-4 All-State team.

According to Ann Arbor.com, Edwards, a running back for the CHS varsity football team, was Washtenaw County's lone first team selection, though five others received at least an honorable mention.

Edwards had 204 carries for 1,329 yards and 21 touchdowns and 15 receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown during the 2012 regular season. The high school went 6-3 and made the playoffs for the 14th straight year, with Edwards rushing for more than 200 yards four times with a 7.7 average and scoring at least two touchdowns in all six wins. In two years as the starter at Chelsea, Edwards rushed for 2,849 yards and 39 touchdowns, according to the newspaper.

Edwards is currently considering sevenl Division I college offers from Mid-American Conference schools
