Dustin Suntheimer Joins Chelsea City Council

The councilman will replace Chelsea resident Kent Martinez-Kratz, who was elected to the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners in November.

There will be a new face on the Chelsea City Council when it resumes meetings in January.

Chelsea resident Dustin Suntheimer was selected by the council to replace outgoing member Kent Martinez-Kratz, who was elected to the County Board of Commissioners in November.

Three other candidates interviewed for the position β€” Bethany Morris, Lynn Fox and Jeff Blazok.

According to Chelsea Update, Suntheimer moved to Chelsea in 2004 and has three children in the school district and is involved with the lacrosse team. He’s employed in sales and marketing for the University of Michigan's Department of Pathology.

He will officially take office on Jan. 8, 2013.
