Obituary: Samuel Lee Hoover

Samuel Hoover of Chelsea died on Jan. 15. 2013.

Samuel Lee Hoover, 61, of Chelsea died Jan. 15, 2013 in his home. He was born June 10, 1951 in Stockbridge, the son of Warren M. and Anna (VanBlaircum) Hoover.

Mr. Hoover graduated from Chelsea High School in 1969. He worked for Dana Corp. for many years. Later he worked for Bookcrafters, and more recently, Polly's Country Market in Chelsea.

Mr. Hoover was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Chelsea. He was a member of the Chelsea Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Kym Parker of Jackson; a son, Eric (Carissa) Hoover of Jackson; seven grandchildren: Kyle and Skylar, Caleb, Cody, Kaitlyn, Audrey, and Jeremy; two brothers: Bruce Hoover of Sumpter, OR., and Daniel (Janet) Hoover of Chelsea; two sisters: Jaqueline (Roy) Wentz of Chelsea, and Elizabeth Kalmbach of Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea with pastors Stanley Eckermann and John Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
