Dexter District
Library will be hosting an exciting new program as part of its second annual Community Read. Join Doug Vandenberg
from the Michigan Geocaching Organization (www.mi-geocaching.org) for an
introduction to this fun outdoor pursuit. Geocaching is an outdoor
recreational activity in which participants use GPS enabled devices and other
navigational techniques to hide and seek ‘caches’ along trails, parks and
natural areas. Learn how to find hidden, outstanding and interesting
locations in Michigan, throughout the U.S and all over the world through this
fun, outdoor activity. This program will introduce basic GPS devices and
their use, discuss resources to help you get involved in geocaching and bring
sample caches to help attendees identify caches in the wild. At the
conclusion of the program, attendees will head out from the Library to find
hidden caches right here in Dexter.
Registration is not required and everyone is welcome.
