Chelsea resident Susan Barb has joined the staff at the Chelsea Senior Center as the center's new program manager.
Barb, whose background is in marketing and Human Resources, will help develop programs for the center's growing membership.
"Susan will be a terrific asset to our team and organization. Her friendly, outgoing personality will be a great fit to engage with our members," executive director Trinh Pifer said.
The senior center has experienced close to a 20 percent increase in visitors per month for the past two years, according to Pifer.
Barb will be in charge of overseeing and planning 30 different programs every week, including a daily senior lunch program, exercise classes, educational and volunteer opportunities for the center's 700 members.
“I’m looking forward to working with a wonderful group of people who bring lots of energy, creativity, and fun to the Chelsea Senior Center,” Barb said in a press release.
As the program manager, she will develop new programs and activities to attract new members to the center, as well.
The Chelsea Senior Center is located in the Washington Street Education Center at 512 E. Washington St. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 734-475-9242.
