Michigan Actor Jeff Daniels Nominated for SAG Award for HBO Series "The Newsroom"
The 19th annual Screen Actors Guild awards will be broadcast on TBS on Jan. 27.
The nominations for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced Wednesday morning amid a barrage of media hoopla.
Jeff Daniels, a resident of Chelsea and founder of the Purple Rose Theatre Company, was nominated for best male actor in a drama series.
Daniels is currently filming season 2 of the HBO drama The Newsroom, where he stars as veteran news anchor Will McAvoy, a journalist struggling to find his way in a very partisan news-telling society.

Daniels will take a brief leave from the show to perform a series of live concerts on the Purple Rose stage during the Christmas holidays.
The SAG Awards, which also honors television, will air on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at 8 p.m. eastern time on TBS.
