Open auditions for downtown Chelsea’s “Sounds and Sights on Thursday Nights” 2013 summer concert series will take place on March 18.
Festival organizers are looking for musicians, singer/songwriters, jugglers, magicians, dance troupes, artists, and other street arts performers.
The auditions will be held March 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.
According to the online application, there are approximately 100 paying spots available for this year's concert series.
Performers can fill out the online application and reserve a time slot. Those auditioning will then have 3-5 minutes to perform at one of four stages before a panel of judges made up of local musicians, committee members, and merchants.
Performers should bring any necessary equipment with which they would normally perform. There are 30-40 audition slots available on a first come basis. Those that cannot make the audition or are not able to secure a time slot should still fill out the application online and send in a CD, demo, or email a link to an audio demo. There is no charge to audition.
Selected performers will be contacted to schedule performance dates during the Sounds and Sights season based on availability.
