Purple Rose Theatre Debuts New Play at Chelsea District Library

Actors from the Purple Rose Theatre will conduct a reading of 'Annapurna' by Sharr White on Feb. 23.

The Chelsea District Library will host a reading of a new play by Purple Rose Theatre Company actors titled Annapurna by Sharr White.

The reading will take place Feb. 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library’s McKune Room.

The plot revolves around a cranky poet named Ulysses who is resigned to spending his final days alone in a trailer park in the middle of nowhere. Instead, he gets an unexpected visit from Emma, his ex-wife, who has come for a final reckoning after 20 years apart.

The reading is free and open to the public. Registration for the event is strongly encouraged, due to limited seating. Registration is available by calling the Chelsea District Library at 734-475-8732.
