Chelsea Hotels Near Capacity for Sixth Annual Ghoultide Gathering
Thirty-three artists from across the country will descend on Chelsea to showcase their Halloween-theme crafts on Oct. 5-6.
If you are looking for a room the weekend of Oct. 5-6, you might have to look outside of the city.
The sixth annual Ghoultide Gathering, a two-day Halloween art show at the Chelsea Community Fairgrounds, is expected to draw hundreds to the community, and hotel reservations are quickly filling up.
"We've been booked up solid for that weekend for about four months," Veronica Hubler, front desk manager for Chelsea Comfort Inn said.
Hubler said this is the first time the hotel will be accomodating a large group of mostly out of state artists.
"With so many people coming here for the weekend, I think it will be good for the local businesses," she said.
A representative from Holiday Inn Express in Chelsea, said the hotel only has eight more rooms available for the weekend.
The show takes place from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 5 and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Oct. 6.
Juried artists, working in a variety of mediums, will display bewitching collections of original Halloween-themed artwork. Evening early buy admission is $20 with free reentry on Saturday. Friday's guests will be treated to live music from Ann Arbor’s The Apple Seed Collective. Saturday-only admission is $5. Ticket purchase is available at the gate the day of show.
